What if you're not like everybody else?

Ceecho (pronounced "see" cho-rhymes with "show") loves everybody unconditionally. That's because everyone has loved her unconditionally. She was diagnosed with cerebeller hypoplasia as a tiny kitten, and on her way to a special needs family when a chance stopover at a Happy Cat Adoptions foster home gave her a chance for adoption.

Cerebeller hypoplasia is a nerve condition that happens when a mother isn't vaccinated or is vaccinated while she is pregnant.  It is caused by a cat virus, and the virus attacks the cerebellum (the portion of the brain that controls balance and fine motor skills).  It also attacks any rapidly developing cells like the eyes - and quite often kittens are born sight impaired or blind.

It can affect all or just one in a litter.  Late in the pregnancy is when it attacks the cerebellum and the kittens are born with motor skills and balance problems.  It can range from hardly noticeable to so severe that the kitten cannot sit, stand or walk on its own.

Ceecho was a lucky girl - her CH is so very mild, you would never notice it if we'd not told you! It is a little head shake when she's excited, a little more hyper when she's playing,  a little loss of focus when she's staring right at something.

But having been loved from birth, Ceecho didn't realize she was different. She runs, plays, wrestles, and complains just like all her kitten friends. She is often the favorite of children who come to visit, with her wild abandon, chasing a toy, her absolute friendliness, and her willingness to go nose to nose with a loud toddler.

Ceecho will never need extra vet care for her condition. The damage was done before birth. She is the way she is. As she gets older, she adapts to her differences, and at some point, she will adapt all she can. Right now, you notice her slight difference against the background of the other kittens, but on her own, you forget any difference she may have.

A wonderful companion, a delightful playmate, a full-on cuddler who loves to come right up to you and kiss, Ceecho needs her own home. Is it your home?

For more information about this darling, email her foster dad directly at haroldw1@sbcglobal.net or to meet her, go to her webpage at www.happycatadoptions.org and fill out an online application.
